About Us
A chambers built around considered, careful work.
Testament Chambers was established to provide families in Malaysia with steady, well-considered legal support for the matters that arise when someone they love has passed.

Why Testament Chambers Exists
Testament Chambers came out of a straightforward observation: that families dealing with estate administration in Malaysia often find themselves navigating processes that are not clearly explained, at a time when they have little capacity for confusion. The paperwork involved in identifying and distributing an estate can be substantial, and the interaction between civil and religious frameworks adds a layer that many families have not previously encountered.
The chambers was set up by practitioners who had worked in larger settings and who wanted to offer a different kind of experience — one where the pace is set by the family rather than by a schedule, where every document is explained before it is signed, and where plain language is used throughout. We do not use legal terminology without offering a plain-language alternative alongside it.
Our work is centred on three areas: preparation of estate inventories and schedules, advisory on the relationship between faraid and testamentary provisions, and the administration of small estates under the applicable Malaysian procedures. We take on a limited number of matters at any one time so that the attention each family receives is genuine rather than nominal.
We are based at 23 Jalan Perak in Kuala Lumpur, and we welcome first enquiries by telephone or in writing, at no cost and without any expectation that the enquiry will progress to an engagement.

Our Standards
How We Work
The following principles guide every engagement at Testament Chambers, from the first enquiry to the final distribution.
Written Records at Every Stage
Every significant step in an engagement is documented and shared with the family. Nothing proceeds without a written record that the family can retain.
Confidentiality as a Foundation
Family affairs shared with us are treated with strict confidentiality. Information is not shared beyond what the engagement requires, and data is handled in accordance with applicable Malaysian law.
Adherence to Malaysian Law
All advice is grounded in current Malaysian civil and, where applicable, religious law. We do not offer opinion beyond our competence, and refer to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Plain Language Throughout
Legal terms are always accompanied by a plain-language explanation. We do not expect families to arrive familiar with legal vocabulary, and we take responsibility for making things clear.
Family-Led Pace
We do not impose timelines that do not serve the family. Where a matter requires consultation — with family members, religious advisers, or other professionals — we accommodate that without pressure.
Fee Transparency
Fees are stated clearly before any engagement begins. We explain what is included and identify any matters that might give rise to additional cost, so families can make informed decisions.
Testament Chambers operates from Kuala Lumpur and serves families across Malaysia who require legal support in estate administration and inheritance matters. Our engagements are structured around the specific needs of each family, with attention to the legal, cultural, and personal dimensions of the matter.
Malaysian estate law involves a range of procedural requirements, including the filing of applications under the Small Estates (Distribution) Act where the estate is below the relevant threshold, and the coordination of faraid distribution for Muslim estates alongside any testamentary provisions that may exist. We work through these requirements carefully, at the pace the family needs.
