Our Services

Three services, carefully delivered.

Each engagement is structured to give the family a clear picture of what is involved, how it will proceed, and what it will cost — before any work begins.

Our Methodology

How Each Engagement Is Structured

Before any engagement begins, we meet — in person or by telephone — to understand the family's situation and to explain clearly what the relevant service involves. We state the fee at this meeting and describe what is and is not included. The family is not asked to make a decision at this meeting.

Where the family proceeds, each stage of the work is preceded by a written note explaining what will happen next. At the conclusion of each stage, the family receives a written record. The engagement concludes with a complete written summary of the matter for the family's records.

Initial Assessment

At no cost. We understand the situation and explain the options honestly.

Documented Engagement

Each step is recorded and shared. Nothing proceeds without the family's understanding.

Complete Family Record

A written record of the full matter, provided to the family at conclusion.

Service 01

Estate Inventory & Preparation of Schedules

Families dealing with the administration of an estate often find that the first task — accounting for what exists — is more involved than expected. Accounts held with multiple banks, property registered under old documentation, and other holdings that were not centrally recorded all require separate correspondence and confirmation. We manage this work carefully, prepare written schedules in a format that supports all subsequent steps, and review the completed documentation with the family at a pace that allows questions to be raised and answered.

What the engagement includes:

  • Identification of accounts, property, shares, and other holdings
  • Correspondence with financial institutions and relevant registries
  • Preparation of asset and liability schedules in written form
  • Review of completed schedules with the family
  • Written documentation for the family's records

How it unfolds:

  1. 1 Initial meeting to understand the estate's known composition and identify any gaps
  2. 2 Correspondence phase — we contact institutions and registries; family is kept informed
  3. 3 Compilation of schedules, reviewed with the family before finalisation
  4. 4 Delivery of completed written documentation to the family

Service 02

Advisory on Faraid & Testamentary Interaction

The relationship between faraid principles — the Islamic law of prescribed inheritance shares — and testamentary provisions is a common and sometimes delicate consideration in Malaysian estate planning. A will prepared without proper attention to faraid may be valid in civil law but unworkable in the context of the family's religious obligations. Equally, faraid distribution alone may not reflect what the deceased intended for assets acquired jointly or held under other arrangements. We work through these questions with the client in writing and in plain language, and allow time for consultation with family members or religious advisers before any drafting or decision proceeds.

What the engagement includes:

  • Review of existing testamentary documents and family context
  • Written advice on the applicable faraid and civil frameworks
  • Plain-language explanation of each point of interaction
  • Time allowed for family and religious consultation before proceeding
  • Drafting of documents where required, at a measured pace
  1. 1 Initial consultation to understand the family's circumstances and documents
  2. 2 Written advisory memo setting out the position in plain language
  3. 3 Family review period — questions and further consultation accommodated
  4. 4 Drafting or documentation where the family decides to proceed

Small estate administration

Service 03

Administration of Small Estates

Families who have lost a relative with modest holdings sometimes find that even a straightforward administration involves steps that are unfamiliar and time-consuming — filing applications with the Land Administrator or Amanah Raya Berhad, attending hearings, and following up with institutions to effect the eventual distribution. We support families through each of these stages, prepare and submit the necessary applications, handle correspondence with relevant authorities, and attend hearings where this is required. Distribution to beneficiaries proceeds in accordance with the outcome, and a written record of each step is kept and provided to the family.

What the engagement includes:

  • Assessment of the estate's composition and applicable procedure
  • Preparation and submission of necessary applications
  • Correspondence with Land Administrator, ARB, or other relevant authorities
  • Attendance at hearings where required
  • Support with distribution to beneficiaries
  • Written record of each step for the family
  1. 1Initial assessment to confirm applicable procedure and explain the process
  2. 2Application preparation and submission, with family updates throughout
  3. 3Attendance at any hearings; family informed of outcome promptly
  4. 4Distribution to beneficiaries and written completion record
